What is Autogas Day?
On Thursday, October 15, 2026, we will once again celebrate Autogas Day worldwide. This day highlights the benefits of driving on autogas (LPG) and the role autogas can play as an alternative to traditional transportation fuels.
Autogas is widely available around the world and is used by millions of drivers. During Autogas Day, companies and organisations worldwide organise activities and campaigns to raise awareness of autogas.
Why Autogas Day?
Many people are still not familiar with the benefits of driving on autogas. LPG offers several advantages:
- Lower fuel costs – in many markets, driving on LPG is more affordable than driving on petrol.
- Lower tailpipe emissions – compared with petrol, LPG results in lower CO₂ emissions and significantly less particulate matter than diesel.
- Widely available – autogas is available at more than 80,000 filling stations worldwide, including more than 900 in the Netherlands and 350 in Belgium.
- Proven technology – more than 28 million vehicles worldwide are now powered by autogas.*
